Offshore Platform Support Of Alternative Energy Devices

  1. Low cost floating offshore platform. The hull of this platform can be used in shallow water or ultra deep water. The hull can be used in mild to harsh environments. The hull can be built new or made from an existing oil tanker. If made from an existing tanker, the hull will be the lowest cost and fastest installed floating platform in the world. We call the hull the "Ocean Fortress" since it is very large, stable and very safe.
  2. Low cost mooring system that can be used to anchor most floaters in shallow to ultra deep water. The new mooring system uses the minimum number of mooring legs and the mooring legs go straight to the bottom. The mooring legs can be used to optionally laterally support risers eliminating the need for VIV suppression systems on the risers. The new mooring system’s dampening can also be adjusted to meet the required vessel motion. We call the mooring system in combination with a floating hull a "Tension Leg Counter Weight Platform" or “TLCWP”.
  3. Ocean Wave Power Generator. This new simple system generates significant power from normal everyday waves existing along the coastlines of most ocean front countries around the world. The new Ocean Wave Power Generator works best when used in conjunction with the next patent, the Ocean Current Power Generator.
  4. Ocean Current Power Generator. This new simple system traps and generates significant power from normal everyday currents existing along the coastlines of most ocean front countries around the world. The Ocean Current Power Generator system is installed far enough below the water’s surface to not be visible from shore, to not interfere with normal small craft and to not be disturbed by storm wave action. The Ocean Current Power Generator system can also serve as support for Ocean Wave Power Generator system and both can mutually benefit from the power farm infrastructure of the combined system including the infrastructure support offered by the next fifth patent.
  5. Offshore Power Generator. This patent provides methods that allow conventional offshore structures to support all types of ocean wave power generators, to support various types of ocean current power generators, wind power generators, solar power generators and other forms of renewable energy power generation. This patent also patents the re-use of existing offshore structures in support of offshore renewable energy power generation.

These low cost renewable ocean power generation systems make it possible to generate significant renewable ocean power economically and competitively today providing countries with major coastlines the ability to be energy independent and a major exporter of electric power.

This website describes these new patents in more detail and discusses the many advantages of each patent.
